Woodleigh -42 Minster-17 A great game for both sides. The match was closely fought In the first half with some great play from both sides. The minster forwards and the Woodleigh forwards  fought hard for the ball and the backs made great runs. In the second half with Minster tiring , the Woodleigh backs took  the game away from Minster with two trys from Harry Fenton , a try from Rob Bradley and one from Will Bradley. Over all a great game for both teams, hard fought and well played.

Last season we enjoyed all our U11 matches. With a larger squad this season we can’t wait until our next match. There are loads of fixtures and even four tournaments this year. This is our new team.

Description by Fred Bradley – Year 4

It is sort of circular and it has little divots. Specially trained pigs sniff them out snorting wildley then dig them up. There often found in deep dark woods and scary forests. You can eat them they are about the size of an apple. They are quite rare they are hard to. They smell bad they are black. They grow underground. They taste amazing they have tiny bits in them. They are fresh when you find them.

It is brown and it has delicious vanilla icing on it. Sometimes I make it and it sometimes it has millions of sprinkles on top of it. If you drop it on the floor, the hard stuff will make an awesome smashing sound and at the bits will look really chocolatey.

The Woodleigh Rugby team headed off the St. Martin’s Ampleforth armed with bags full of enthusiasm. Shortly after arrival they met up with Bramcote, the other half of their team. Having never met their teammates both schools put their differences behind them and worked together in the scrums and breaking away with the ball.

Their first match was against determined team Terrington. Woodleigh but up a good fight and tried there best but the tactics from different school teaching methods didn’t match up to that of a coordinated school. Unfortunately Red House Grammer School couldn’t make it, so Woodleigh had an extra match to talk to each other and decide on new tactics.

Last night there was a hurricane and I heard shattering noises all night long. I was quite worried that it would smash the tree in our garden down. After school, when I went to bed I heard a clatter from outside my bedroom window. Just then I realised bits of the tree were no longer there. I ran down the stairs to see if Charlie, our dog was still outside. He was panting outside the door. Luckily the huge fallen branches had no landed on him, but he looked scared. When we came back inside, Charlie started to whine . He didn’t like the wind, and neither did I.

The wind started to buffet the trees again and I brought Charlie into the living room to watch TV with me.

Later on, when I was trying to get to sleep, I heard a massive rumble. Another tree had been knocked over by the roaring wind. I thought I should go to bed but I couldn’t bare to leave my dog and I was quickly awoken by another tree falling with a loud thwack onto the road.

Naughty Amelia Jane by Enid Blyton - I like this book because of all the naughty things she gets up to like making a fake tale for teddy bear and turning it into a snake so he thinks its chasing him. And when she also when she chops off Rabbit’s tale and lots more naughty things.

I think Enid Blyton is a very good writer and my favourite character is Teddy. But Tiddles the cat is very cute.

I think the only bad thing about the book is that it’s very old and I can’t understand some of the words but apart from that I like the book.

The Diary of  a Wimpy kid By Jeff Kinney - I like this book  because the pictures are good. It is quite funny. It is a long book.

I think it is good to pass the time. The main character is called Greg .  The funniest bit is were Greg gets some new pants for Christmas. His best friend is called Rowley he is very funny.

There are two movies I have watched one of the movies. I watched the first one. It is very funny.

Scary reptiles is a very good book I have been reading it has lots of interesting facts in it. It has some very good pictures of reptiles for example: crocodiles, cobras, vipers, sea snakes and lots of other dangers reptiles.

There are very good facts in it for example: did you know that komodo Dragons eat their babies? And snapping turtles have a pink line on there tough and fish swim right onto it and they snap them up.

 I think other people should read it to find out some more interesting facts. I think most interesting fact is that some lizards squirt blood out of their eyes. The best picture is the one of a sea snake.

Sporting memories cricket by James Cadagon - I think the book is really good because it is a non fiction book with loads of facts of great moments and great players that have been around at certain times. It has people from Sir Donald Bradman to recently Brian Lara. I really like the book because it has so much information to last you a day or two. My favourite page is the Sir Viv Richards page because I was a great fan of him for a while. There is not one thing I would change of disagree with because it is such a great book. The book has also information about great stadiums and what year it was made in and also how many people it holds in the stadium, (if it matters my favourite is Lord’s). It is a great book for anyone who is mad about cricket and for people of all ages. The great thing is that it doesn’t miss out any important records like Sir Garfield Sobers 36 of 6 balls.
